Face masks made of natural ingredients can help whiten skin through exfoliation.

Skin naturally becomes darker as a result of exposure to sunlight, and prolonged time in the sun can give you a heavy tan. Some people find this desirable, even spending money to artificially tan their skin, but others find lighter skin more attractive. You can naturally remove a tan and whiten your skin by a process known as exfoliation---the removal of outer, tanned layers of dead skin, revealing the lighter skin underneath.

Instructions

    • 1

Mix 1 tsp. each of powdered milk, honey, lemon juice, and 1/2 tsp. almond oil. If more is needed, use larger quantities of the four ingredients, always using half as much almond oil as anything else.

    • 2

Apply the mixture to the face, or any other part of the skin that you want lightened.

    • 3

Wash the mixture off after 10 to 15 minutes. Repeat daily, until the skin is sufficiently fair.

Tips & Warnings

  • Other natural substances can also be used to lighten skin. Some popular alternatives include oatmeal, cheese curd and tomato juice; graham flour, raw milk and lime juice; grated tomato and lime juice; ground almonds and milk; or even ground mint leaves.
