How to Remove Viruses Online for Free

Using the various online virus scanners, you can scan for and remove viruses that have infected your machine. These online scanners are updated frequently, keeping them armed against new infections. How long each scan takes will depend on the level of infection your computer has and your Internet connection speed. Online scanners are effective against malware, rootkits, adware and most other common virus types.

Instructions

ESET Online Scanner

1. Click the first link in the "Resources" section to access the ESET Online Scanner.

2. Click the "ESET Online Scanner" button. A new window displaying the End User Agreement will open.

3. Place a check next to "Yes, I accept the Terms of Use" and click the "Start" button. After the test is complete, any viruses detected and removed will be displayed, along with prevention tips.

Panda ActiveScan 2.0

1. Click the second link in the "Resources" section to access the Panda ActiveScan 2.0.

2. Click the "Scan your PC Now" button. A new window will open.

3. Select "Full Scan" and click the "Scan Now" button. Click "Yes" when prompted to install the ActiveX controls (a small, nonthreatening process). The summary of the scan will be presented at the bottom of the page.

Bit Defender

1. Click the third link in the "Resources" section to access the Bit Defender online scanner.

2. Click the "Start Scanner" button. You will be transferred to the Bit Defender QuickScan.

3. Click the "Start Scan" button. Click "Continue" when prompted. Any infections found will be listed on the results page.
