How Do I Become a Cosmetology Apprentice in MD?
The Maryland Board of Cosmetologists oversees licensing of cosmetologists and related professions in the state. If you want a cosmetology license but don't think school is for you, you have another option: a 24-month apprenticeship with a licensed beauty salon in the state. You must be at least 17 to work as a cosmetology apprentice. Once you have completed the training, you can take the cosmetology licensing examination.
