How do I Use a Linksys WRE54G With a WRT54GX4?
The Linksys WRT54GX4 is a wireless router capable of creating a wireless network. The Linksys WRE54G is a range expander that is capable of taking your existing wireless network and expanding its range so that you can use the Internet farther away from the router than you could before. To use both of these devices together, all you need to do is connect them using the proper procedure.

Plug your Linksys wireless extender into a wall outlet. The wireless extender comes with a power cable that, once inserted into a wall outlet, will automatically turn the device on.

Insert the Linksys wireless extender CD-ROM into your computer. After a second or two, the Linksys wireless extender setup and configuration utility will appear on screen. Click "Next."

Input the name of the wireless network that is being created by your Linksys wireless router and your network password into the configuration utility. Click "Next." Your computer will automatically configure the wireless extender to become a part of the wireless network.

Move your wireless extender as far away from your Linksys wireless router as you can, preferably about 30 to 60 feet. This will then extend the range of your wireless network by an additional 30 to 60 feet, allowing you to use the Internet at much greater distances away from the router.
