How to Set Up a Dell Axim X51v on Wireless

The name of a wireless network is also referred to as the SSID.

The Dell Axim X51v is a PDA device that runs Windows Mobile 6. The Axim has an internal wireless network adapter that allows you to wirelessly connect to other computers or to wireless networks using the device. Once connected to a wireless network, you can access the Internet on the Axim, provided that the router is connected to an Internet source, such as a cable modem.

Instructions

1. Enable the wireless connection on the Dell Axim X51v by pressing the "Wireless" button on the device. When the green light is displayed on the top-right corner of the device, the wireless connection is active.

2. Navigate to the Home screen on the Dell Axim X51v device and then tap "Start" followed by "Settings" and then "Connections."

3. Tap "Network Cards" to open the "Configure Wireless Networks" window, which allows you to add a new connection.

4. Select your network from the list of detected networks and then enter your network key. Your network key can be found by logging into your router, using the manufacturer's instructions included with the router, or by contacting your network administrator.

5. Tap "OK" to complete the configuration of your wireless connection.
