Wooden buckets can also be used as pots for your plants.

Wooden buckets can do a lot of things. They can hold plants or small items, or carry water from one place to another. What's good about using wood as a material for any container is that it's durable and can last for a long time. Instructions

    • 1

Place the 1-by-2-by-10-inch cedar boards on a flat surface to prepare for cutting. Use the table saw to create a 15-degree cut on the 10-inch edges of the boards. These boards will serve as the sides of your bucket. The 15-degree cut will provide enough space for your bucket sides to come together to form a round shape.

    • 2

Use the electric drill with the 1/2-inch bit to drill a hole through one end of two of the 1-by-2-by-10-inch boards. These holes will serve as passage for the bucket's rope.

    • 3

Place the 1-by-2-by-10-inch cedar boards next to each other to form a round shape. Place the two boards with drilled holes across from each other.

    • 4

Apply wood glue to each board's edges to form a joint. Clamp the sides of the bucket together with the ratchet straps. Use a dry cloth to wipe off the excess glue and allow it to dry for at least 2 hours.

    • 5

Wrap one of the ½-by-38-inch copper bands at least 3 inches from the top and bottom of the sides of your bucket. The bands will serve as added decoration for your bucket. Fasten these in place with a hammer and a few copper nails placed at least 2 inches apart.

    • 6

Place the bucket side assembly from the previous step on top of the 3/4-by-12-by-12 inch board. Trace around the bottom of the bucket with a pencil and cut it with a band saw.

    • 7

Fasten the bottom of the bucket to the assembled sides using the hammer and a few copper nails.

    • 8

Thread the 3/8-inch rope through both holes at the top of the bucket sides. Tie a knot on both ends to secure the rope and form the bucket handle.
