Coconut oil can be infused with other natural oils and herbs to create essential lotions and creams for the skin. Natural Home Remedies For Life, which provides an array of natural recipes for the face and skin, recommends using coconut oil in masks and creams for dry skin and wrinkles.

Things You'll Need

  • 1 tbsp. unrefined, virgin coconut oil
  • 1 avocado
  • 1 tsp. honey
  • 1/2 fresh lemon
  • Aloe vera stem
  • Mortar and pestle

Facial Conditioning Mask

Mash avocado in a mortar or medium-size porcelain or wooden bowl. With a pestle or masher, mash the avocado, then stir.

Stir in coconut oil, lemon and honey. Stir mixture until it becomes semi-creamy. Because of the avocado, the mixture will be slightly lumpy. For a creamier consistency, use a food processor or blender.

Cut a portion of an aloe vera stem, approximately 4 to 6 inches long; split stem along the side and squeeze juice into the coconut oil mixture.
