If you are shopping for a Toyota Prius you may have a few questions. Going to a car lot and searching through its showroom and inventory can give you a good idea of what is included in each Prius. Several models of the car are available, and each model will come with its own package of features. Each new car has a sticker that can answer your questions. However, if you are shopping online or from a private dealer you won't have access to the sticker. Determining the package included in a Prius is easy. You can do an online search or check the car's vehicle identification number, or VIN.

Step 1

Look at the factory sticker. All new cars have a sticker, usually attached to a window, that tells information about the car. Included will be the year, make and model, the fuel economy estimate, where the car was made, its warranties, features and a government safety rating. If you do not find the information you are looking for on the sticker, ask a salesman. He should be trained to know every detail on the vehicles he is selling.

Step 2

Search the Toyota website. The Toyota Prius website has extensive information about each model it sells. You can research the history of a vehicle or build your own. The site also will help you find the nearest dealer, who also can answer your questions.

Step 3

Search the Internet. Many websites describe the packages included with each car. These will include information on both new and used cars. Edmunds.com is a great place to start. It also shows cars available in your area, the price, location, and VIN. Carfax is a website used to check the history and the specifics of cars. For a fee, a Carfax report will tell you whether the car has been properly maintained and whether it has been in any major collisions.
