How to Use a Webcam for a Photo Booth
If you grew up going to malls and amusement parks and taking pictures of you and your friends inside a photo booth, you might be looking to modernize the experience from the comfort of your own home. Using a webcam and one of the free applications from the Internet is a cost-effective way to recapture this pastime. Photo booth programs on the Web allow you to shoot photos in quick succession, change the colors of your picture and add effects, stickers and borders. Childhood is now regained.

1
Check out photo booth websites, like Cameroid or Fun Face Cam, which both allow you to edit your images with effects and put your face into other photos and famous paintings. The iMac application Photobooth, which comes with Apple computers, has a similar format. For a more "old-school" experience, try the French site La Photo Cabine, which takes photos in groups of four, like a traditional photo booth, which you can download and print in a photo strip format. See the Resources section for links.

2
Turn your webcam on when you are ready to start the process. If your webcam is built in, the computer may automatically detect it.
-
-
3
Go to the website or application and click on "Start Here" or "Get Started."
-
4
Click "Allow" when the website asks permission to use your webcam. This usually means that the webcam has already been detected, but it may take a few moments to connect, regardless.
-
5
Start posing for and snapping photos once you see yourself on the photo booth screen.
-
6
Add effects and save your photos as you go.
