How do I Connect to an HP J6450?
The HP Officejet J6450 All-in-One printer is a network-ready multifunction inkjet printer featuring copy, print and scan functions. The HP J6450 allows you to boost productivity with wireless and automatic two-sided photo-realistic printing. The printer is connected to a computer with a USB cable, Ethernet cable or wirelessly through an existing 802.11 wireless network. The process involves installing the software included with the printer and following the on-screen directions.

Locate your wireless network name (SSID) and WEP pass-phrase or WPA key if needed. Consult the Tips section for more information.

Close all running programs on the computer, and insert the HP Starter CD into the computer. Click "Install Network/Wireless" on the CD menu, and follow the on-screen instructions. When prompted, connect the USB cable, and continue following the on-screen instructions. Allow the installation to complete, and disconnect the USB cable.

Test the connection by opening a document or website on your computer and attempting to print. If the document or website fails to print, see "Solving Wireless (802.11) problems" on page 5 of the "Wireless Getting Started Guide" (see References).

Tips & Warnings
You must have network information available to continue with the wireless setup. HP provides a web-based tool called the "Wireless Network Assistant" that can help retrieve this information (see Resources).
