How to Export a PowerPoint to a Flash

Convert PPT to Flash with third-party software.

Microsoft PowerPoint (PPT) doesn't export files into Flash directly. Any export method will require third-party software such as Adobe Flash. Some converters, either freeware or for purchase, are available for download on the Internet. Their methodologies will vary. One program, OpenOffice, available for free download at OpenOffice.org, enables users to convert static PowerPoint presentations (i.e. PPT presentations that do not have animations, video or audio) into Flash files. If you have a dynamic presentation, download a free 30-day trial of Adobe Flash to convert the file with video and other media intact.

Things You'll Need

  • PowerPoint file
  • Static presentations: OpenOffice (installed)
  • Dynamic presentations: Adobe Flash or another third-party software (installed)
