      Open the PDF file that you desire to convert. In Adobe Reader or Foxit Reader, select "File" menu, select "Open" and then the file name. In addition, you can double-click on the document icon if it was saved on the desktop.

      Click on the "File" menu and then select "Save as Text." A "Save As" dialog box will display.

      Select the desired option for saving the file as text. In the dialog, you are able to change the file name, select the destination folder and also select if you'd like to save the file as .txt or as another text-only format. Click "Save." The file has now been saved in the destination folder as a text format.
