Import music from your computer into iTunes for iPod Touch and iPhone synchronization.

Prior to transferring your computer's music to your iPod Touch or iPhone, the music must first be imported into the iTunes program. The iTunes application acts as a media organizer and is created specifically for the iPod Touch and iPhone devices. Depending on your music's file extension, you may need to convert the audio file to a supported format for the portable device. According to the official Apple website, unprotected Windows Media Audio (WMA) songs are automatically converted in iTunes.
