How do I Find If Satellite, Wireless, or Cable Is Available in My Area?

Locate cable and satellite programming in your area.

If you have just moved into a new area of the country or have decided to sign up for Internet and cable/satellite service, you need to know if the options are available in your area. Although more than likely there is some sort of wireless and television option available, you need to know for sure and what companies provide it. This only takes a little investigating and soon you'll know what companies offer the services in your area.

Instructions

1. Talk to your friends and family in the area. Someone, more than likely, has the service you are looking to purchase. They can tell you exactly what companies they go through and what programming is offered.

2. Log onto the Internet (if you don't have access at home, a local library is likely to offer the service). Navigate to a cable or satellite provider (such as Comcast, AT&T or Verizon). Choose the "Service" option and you are typically asked for your zip code. If the programming is available in the area, you are shown the programming features with listed prices.

3. Look through the local Yellow Pages. The phone book is going to list any cable, satellite or wireless providers in the area, the phone numbers for contacting the company and the company websites.
