How to Combine a PNG to PDF

You can use Adobe Acrobat to convert files of many format types into PDFs, and you can also create PDF files from scratch. In addition, you can work with PDF files in a number of ways; for example, you can add comments, digitally sign PDFs and add and delete color or image backgrounds.

You can combine a PNG image file with a PDF file in a number of ways. You can insert a copy of the PNG into the PDF, insert the PNG as a page or merge the PNG into the PDF.

Insert the PNG as a Picture

Step 1

Open the PDF in Adobe Acrobat, click "Tools," select "Advanced Editing" and choose "TouchUp Object Tool."

Step 2

Right-click the PDF and select "Place Image." The "Open" dialog box appears.

Step 3

Select "PNG" as the image file type from the "Files of type" drop-down box, select the PNG file you want to insert and click "Open." The copy of the PNG is inserted into the center of the PDF page.

Merge a PNG into a PDF

Step 1

Open the PDF in Adobe Acrobat, click "File," select "Combine" and choose "Merge Files into a Single PDF." The "Combine Files" dialog box appears.

Step 2

Click the "Add Files" button and click "Add Files" from the drop-down menu. The "Add Files" dialog box appears.

Step 3

Select "PNG" from the "Files of Type" drop-down menu, select the PNG file you want to merge and click "Add Files."

Step 4

Specify other options, as appropriate, and click "Combine Files." The PNG is merged with the PDF file.

Insert a PNG as a New PDF Page

Step 1

Open the PDF in Adobe Acrobat, click "Document," select "Insert Pages" and choose "From File" (in Windows) or "Insert Pages" (in Macintosh). The "Select File to Insert" dialog box appears.

Step 2

Select "PNG" from the "Files of type" drop-down box, select the PNG file you want to insert and click "Select." The "Insert Pages" dialog box appears.

Step 3

Choose where you want to insert the PNG file and click "OK." The PNG is inserted into the PDF in the location you specified.
