How to Remove the W32 Blaster Worm

W32.Blaster.Worm is a parasite that infects your computer through network connections, including the Internet. Once installed, the worm connects on the TCP port 135 and sends large amounts of data that will consume all your system memory. Symptoms of having the worm include your computer shutting down unexpectedly, restarting repeatedly and generating error messages. Because this malicious computer worm causes system problems, remove it quickly and safely using the W32.Blaster.Worm Removal Tool.

      Click "Start," right-click "Computer," and select "Properties." Click the "System Protection" link in the navigation panel on the left, and choose "Configure." Click the "Turn Off System Protection" option and select "OK."

      Download the Blaster Worm Removal Tool. It is available at many different websites (see Resources).

      Close all running programs and disable your network connection. Double-click the "W32.Blaster.Worm Removal Tool" to launch the removal tool. Click "Start" and the removal tool will remove the worm. When the process completes, restart your computer.

      Run the W32.Blaster.Worm Removal Tool again to ensure your computer is clean.

      Re-enable System Restore from the System Properties dialog box and restart your computer.
