How Do I Wind a Cartier Tank Women's Watch?

Louis-Francois Cartier was the apprentice of Adolphe Picard at Picard's jewelry workshop in Paris, a workshop which Cartier took over in 1847. He began making a variety of jewelry and accessories, and in 1888 the first bracelet-style watch for women debuted. The Cartier Tank watch continues to be sold at authorized retail stores and high-end department stores. Does this Spark an idea?

      Turn the crown (the small knob located on the right-hand side of the watch) in a clockwise motion until you feel a slight resistance.

      Pull the crown out. There will be a small click. Turn the crown in a clockwise motion until you reach the desired time.

      Push the crown in until one click is heard. Note that the crown is not flush against the side of the watch at this point.

    • 4

      Turn the crown in a clockwise motion until it stops moving.

    • 5

      Push the crown against the side of the watch. The watch is now set and ready to wear.
