How to Install Memory On a Toshiba Tecra M2
In terms of bang for your buck, there are few computer upgrades that improve performance as significantly as memory upgrades. Extra memory--or RAM--increases the amount of information your computer can hold, and makes it run faster. Additionally, memory prices are always going down, so improving your laptop's performance on the cheap is very simple. On laptops like the Toshiba Tecra M2, it's extremely easy to add additional memory.
Instructions

1
Turn off your Tecra M2 and turn it so that the underside is facing you. Locate the memory bay cover. It is right next to the sticker that lists the laptop's Windows serial number.
-
2
Take your Phillips screwdriver and remove the cover.

-
3
Take out your new stick of memory and place it into the open bay (if you haven't purchased it yet, see the link under Resources). Make sure that the stick is lined up properly with the bay and use only light pressure when inserting it.
-
4
Reattach the cover and turn on the computer. If the memory stick was properly installed, your Tecra M2 should boot normally.

Tips & Warnings
When installing the memory, hearing a click or pop will let you know that it's properly installed.
Grease or static electricity can damage computer hardware, so work in a clean work area that doesn't have sources of static electricity, such as a carpet (or use anti-static wristbands).
