The Dell Dimension 8300 runs the Microsoft Windows operating system. When you have the "blue screen of death," your computer will not be able to boot into the system properly. Most of the time, the blue screen is caused by a virus on the computer; however, the problem could also be with a driver installed on the computer. You can easily fix the blue screen of death with just a couple of keystrokes.

Instructions

1. Boot your computer while holding down on the "F8" key. Choose the "Safe Mode" option on the boot menu that appears on the screen.

2. Wait for the computer to boot and then click on your anti-virus software installed on the system.

3. Wait for the anti-virus program to load and then click on the "Full Scan" option to scan your computer. Choose "Quarantine" or "Delete" from the top menu of your screen.

4. Restart your computer. If your system still has the blue screen, restart the computer back into Safe Mode. Click on the "Start" menu and go to the "All Programs" selection. Click on the "Accessories" button and then go to the "System Tools" option.

5. Click on the "System Restore" option and then go through the prompts to restore your computer to a previous date.
