How Do I Get Wi-Fi Internet Signals on My Laptop?
Most laptop computers now come with a built-in wireless Internet receiver. However, it's possible to install an external adapter. Once the equipment is setup on the laptop to receiver wireless signals, it only takes a few configuration adjustments to allow the laptop to access a Wi-Fi signal.

1
Look in the lower right corner of the taskbar. There should be an icon that looks like a single computer monitor. If this icon doesn't appear, your computer probably isn't setup to receive a wireless Internet connection.
-
2
Plug the USB wireless adapter into a USB port on the computer, the insert the driver installation CD. Follow the prompts of the installation wizard (once it appears on the screen) and click "Install" to install the drivers.

3
Restart the computer. Once the system has finished loading, right-click the wireless icon in the lower right corner of the taskbar and select "Enable." The wireless connection on the laptop computer is subsequently enabled.
-
4
Right-click the icon again and select "Search for Available Wireless Networks." A window then displays all of the Internet connections available. Select the network you want to join, type in the required password and click "Connect."
