How to Make Cards in Parchment Craft
Making cards in parchment craft is a popular way to personalize all kinds of messages. Make a small card perfect for a baby shower or a big card for a child's birthday as well as anything in between. There are many designs that can be embossed into parchment paper. These designs can be simple or elaborate and even personalized. The card designs are pressed on the paper and stand out to create an elegant and soft design.

Find a design for the card's front. Flowers and lined designs are among the easiest to create.

Use designed craft scissors to decorate the card's edges. Cut parchment paper longer than the desired length of the card. Tape the paper on the design by rolling a 1-inch piece attaching it end to end with the smooth side on the inside. Place the rolled piece of tape at the top and bottom edge, then lightly press it to the design.

Use a white tracing pencil to trace the design that shows through onto the parchment paper. Slowly remove the design from the parchment paper.

Press an embossing pen smoothly over the design to trace the design or make indents by making dots. Push the pen down and lift and repeat without breaking through the paper.

Tinting crayons come in a variety of colors. Add color to the parchment paper design with a tinting crayon. Use one color or a variety of colors. Consider only coloring certain elements of the design, such as just some petals of a flower and only a few stem leaves.

Fold a piece of 8-by-11-inch card stock in half. Fold or cut it to the desired size and shape.

Place craft glue on each corner of the parchment paper design. Put the design in place on the cardstock front and press firmly at the corners to let the glue attach to the card.

Tips & Warnings
If the tinting crayon is used on the back of the design, the color effect will be frosted on the front.
Use wax paper as an alternative to parchment paper found in craft stores.
Decorate the edge of the parchment paper design by punching a stippling tool through the paper around the edges. Take off any extra paper from the edge design. Tearing the paper edges gives it a rough, handmade look.
