How to Remove a Rear Spoiler From a Civic SI

The Honda Civic Si is the high-performance model in the Civic lineup. It comes equipped with a performance suspension, higher horsepower engine and special Civic Si badging. The rear spoiler on the Civic Si is completely unique to the Si model and has a slightly higher deck height. This spoiler is made from a composite plastic material designed to be extremely crack resistant. It is secured to the vehicle by four 13 mm bolts on the inside of the rear trunk lid.

  • 3/8-inch ratchet
  • 3/8-inch metric socket set

Instructions

    • 1

      Turn off the engine and place the transmission in first gear. Pull the emergency brake lever until it stops and the rear brakes are engaged. Pull the trunk release lever.

      Use the 3/8-inch ratchet to remove the four 13 mm bolts holding the rear spoiler to the trunk lid. Set the bolts aside.

      Grab the spoiler and rock it back and forth until it loosens slightly.

      Pull the spoiler off of the trunk lid using two hands and carefully set it aside. Close the trunk lid.
