The Mac Notebook's single button mouse can be confusing when it comes to right-clicking.

Many of us are used to using computers with at least two mouse buttons, which denote the right-click and left-click. However some modern computers, specifically Apple laptops, have only the one button to click. This becomes a problem when you need to right-click on something in order to perform a particular function. There are a couple of ways in which to perform this action, but they are not always that obvious to the newcomer.

  1. Right-Click using the Control Button

      Drag your cursor to the center of your computer Screen.

      Press the "ctrl" button.

      Immediately hold down the mouse button. A box will appear, meaning that you have right-clicked successfully.

      Click on the Apple symbol at the top left of the screen. Select "System Preferences" from the drop-down menu.

      Select the "Keyboard and Mouse" tab. Check the box next to "Place two fingers on trackpad and click for secondary click." Close "System Preferences."

      Move cursor to a blank part of the Windows screen, place two fingers on your trackpad and press the mouse button.
