The Yamaha W7 Music Synthesizer is a music production workstation that enables you to use preset samples and voices when connected to other MIDI music equipment. When recording on the Yamaha W7, you can choose to record using multi-track loop recording or real-time, step-by-step recording. The on-board multi-track workstation allows you to record music and vocals as well as add and edit digital effects.

      Press the record button.

      Turn the workstation on, then press the "Record" button, which is located on the bottom left-hand side of the synthesizer. The synthesizer will enter into "Song Record Mode."

      Enter the amount of measures.

      Press the "F8" button on the top of the synthesizer and select "Punch-in" record. Press the "F4" button, then select the "AllTr" option from the on-board menu. Move the cursor to the "From" parameters and enter the amount of measures you want in your recording.

      Click the "To" parameters and enter when you want the time to stop recording based on the number of measures. Click the "Loop" field and select the "Jog" function to turn the recording on.

      Practice the notes you're going to be playing, then press the "Run" button to start recording. Play the selected notes, and then press the "Stop" button when you are finished. Preview the recording back by pressing the "Play" button on the top of the synthesizer.
