How to Copy & Paste a Web Page to Another Website
Some web pages bear repeating and should be seen on more than one site. There are those that are so interesting or important that you might want to copy and paste them onto your own site. The process is easily maneuvered by people who know how to do it. Before you begin please note that most web pages are protected by copyright; before you lift any content or images from another site it is imperative that you have permission to do so and that you credit the owner of the site.

Copying the Basic Code

1
Open NotePad or WordPad on your computer. You will be placing the code on this window.

2
Right click on the web page you want to copy. Choose the option "View Source." The source contains the Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) code that scripts the page. Click on the "Edit" tab on the options. Click "Select All." Everything will be highlighted. Right click inside the blue highlighted area. Click "Copy."
-
-
3
Return to your NotePad or WordPad window. Click the page and then right click. Select option "Paste." All of the code from the source page will appear in the window.
-
4
Save the page to your computer in your website's file with an html extension.
Copying the Images

5
Open the source page and examine it for images that you need to complete it. Its source code should still be open on your computer. Click on that window.
-
6
Simultaneously click the Control and the letter "F" buttons. The "Find" window will appear. Type the letters "IMG" in the text box. Press "Find Next." The code for the first image will appear. It will say "IMG SRC=". Highlight that which follows which is enclosed in quotation marks. Right click and press "Copy."
-
7
Navigate back to the source web page. Find the first image. Right click on it. The option "Save Picture As" will appear. Click that. Then click in the text box in the file for your web page. Either right click and choose "Paste" or depress "Control" and the letter "V" to paste the image's name into the text box.
-
8
Repeat this process for all of the images that appear on the page.
-
9
Copy the background image to your file by finding the background's name. Right click on the background of the source page. The option "Save Background As" will appear. Click that. If you're lucky the name that the source page uses will appear in the text box and you can save it to your file as that. Otherwise open your Find box (Control "F") again and search for "background=". What follows in quotations will be the background's name, and you can save it as such in your web page's file.
