Remotely view desktop and computer activity with Win Spy.

Win Spy is a stealth monitoring program that can be deployed on multiple remotely located computers to monitor activity, include websites visited and time spent on the Internet. The program runs in the background and does not show up in the Task Manager or System Tray. This makes it undetectable by the user. Even if users are aware of a monitoring software in the computer, they won't be able to access the program or uninstall it from the system.

Instructions

    • 1

Visit win-spy.com and download the executable installer file directly. Save the "setup.exe" file on your desktop. Double-click the file icon when the download completes to start the installation process. Click prompts onscreen to install the product. You will have to install the program on a local PC before deploying it to one or more remote PCs.

    • 2

Assign a username and password for Win Spy when prompted during installation. This is a security measure meant to restrict unauthorized use of the software.

    • 3

Open the program's main window. Use the secret key combination, known as the "hotkey," to launch the program. Since the program has no desktop or System Tray icons, or any visible traces, the only way to access it is by the hotkey. By default, the key combination is "CTRL + SHIFT + F12," but you can change it later.

    • 4

Click "Remote" on the menu bar, then scroll down the list to select "Remote Install." This will open a window called "Remote Install File Creator," which you will use to prepare Win Spy for deployment to a target PC.

    • 5

Create a file to send to the target computer by email. Win Spy will automatically install on the remote PC when the user opens the email attachment. You can create an image file and save it in either JPG, PPT or EXE format. This mode of installation is especially convenient in situations where the person monitoring employee activity cannot physically go to the location of the remote PCs.

    • 6

Click "Create Remote File" and attach the new file to email messages to send to remote PCs.

    • 7

Access the program from your local computer when you know Win Spy has been successfully deployed to all target PCs. Use the hotkey and type in your username and password to open the main window. Click "Remote," then "Remote Viewer" to display a list of remote computers currently being monitored.

    • 8

View remote desktop. Highlight the computer you want to view, then click "Connect." You will be able to monitor in real time and see the desktop screen of the remote PC in a separate screen.

Tips & Warnings

  • Note your username and password in a secure location. You will not be allowed to login in without this information.

  • Make sure the remote PC is authorized to accept remote requests. If not, you will still be able to monitor activity via email, but you will not be able to view activity in real time.
