How do I Speak Spanish & English Fluently?

Listen to Spanish and English as much as you can.

About 480 million people speak English as a first or second language in the world today, and about 320 million people speak Spanish as a primary or secondary language. According to StudySpanish.com, Spanish is becoming more important to learn in the business world for English speakers, and being bilingual in Spanish and English greatly increases a person's employability.

Instructions

1. Listen to the news, watch movies and television shows in both languages. Watch English movies with Spanish subtitles and Spanish movies with English subtitles. Listen to both languages every day for a set length of time to improve your fluency.

2. Join an online language exchange program such as italki or My Language Exchange. You will meet online and communicate via instant message and voice chat with a person who wants to learn your native language and who speaks Spanish or English.

3. Attend Spanish and/or English language classes. Adult education centers in most communities offer low-cost English classes, and Spanish classes and conversation groups are available in many communities as well.

4. Improve your Spanish or English by listening to Spanish or English audio courses. These are available free from your local library for check out, or you can purchase your own online or at a book store.

5. Hire a private tutor to help you overcome any plateau you have reached in learning English or Spanish. Fortemall and BuddySchool are two online sites you can hire either English or Spanish tutors. ESL Employment offers listings of private English tutors.
