How to Import IE7 Cookies

Do you have cookies from another browser you want to use in Internet Explorer 7? In order for Internet Explorer to recognize these cookies, you must import them to the cookies folder. Luckily Internet Explorer manages this for you, through the use of the import and export wizard. A few clicks of the wizard's next button and your cookies are good to go, for use in your Internet Explorer browser.

Instructions

      Open Internet Explorer 7. Click on "File" and then scroll down and click on "Import and Export." The Import and Export Wizard will pop up on screen.

      Click on the "Next" button.

      Select "Import Cookies" from the text box and then click on the "Next" button.

      Select the "Cookies" you want to import. (The default selection is all the present cookies in the main folder.)

      Save the folder. (Default setting is "My Documents.")

      Click "Finish" to successfully import your cookies.

Tips & Warnings

  • To open the "Import and Export Wizard" you need to have the classic menu enabled. To do this, right click the empty space on the left side of the "Home" button. Select "Classic Menu" from the drop-down menu.
