How to Add Your HP C8100 Scanner

The HP C8100 is an all-in-one printer from Hewlett-Packard. The hardware also comes with the ability to scan documents and copy information. Adding the HP C8100 to your computer is just like adding any other printer and requires a standard USB data cable and driver installation CD. Thankfully, both of these are provided with the scanner upon purchase.

Instructions

1. Connect the HP C8100 to a local power outlet and turn the device on.

2. Plug the USB data cable into the USB port on the HP C8100. Connect the opposite end of the cable into one of the USB ports on the computer system.

3. Insert the driver installation CD into the disc drive of the system. Momentarily, the installation wizard loads onto the screen.

4. Accept the end-user agreement, then click "Next" twice and choose "Install." The driver for the HP C8100 installs onto the computer system. Once the installation is complete, the HP printer/scanner is ready for use.
