How to Improve Internet Speed With Software
Your computer has built-in settings that can affect your download, upload and page loading speed. These settings can be safely optimized with simple programs that match them to your connection speed.

TZ Connection Booster

Open your Web browser. Download and then install TZ Connection Booster. (See Resources.)

Open TZ Connection Booster and enter your Internet connection speed. If you don't know your speed, run a test at Speedtest.net. (See Resources.)

Follow the on-screen instructions to optimize your connection. The program will configure them for you. Restart your computer to apply new settings.
Ashampoo Internet Accelerator

Download and install Ashampoo Internet Accelerator. (See Resources.)

Open the program and click "Automatic." The program will automatically configure your settings. When prompted, enter your Internet connection speed.

Restart your computer to apply settings.
System Restore

Click "Start" on your desktop and then go to "Accessories," "System Tools" and "System Restore." In the event that you have errors after changing settings, this will allow you to return your computer to its previous settings.

Click "Create a restore point." Enter a descriptive name for the point and click "Create."

Use the restore point if necessary by going back to "System Restore" and clicking "Restore my computer to an earlier time." Choose the point you created.

Always create a restore point if you are changing major settings on your computer.
