1
Unplug everything on the computer, and take out the screws in the back of the case to open it. The Computer Hope website suggests you slide the side of the case toward the back until the case comes off.

2
Look at the model numbers on your used computer parts. RAM, video cards and especially hard drives all have a sticker placed on them with the model/serial number and usually some basic specs. Write down the numbers on your used computer gear.

3
Visit the manufacturer's website. Typing in the serial number for big manufacturers like Kingston or ATI will usually give you the specs of your used computer parts. If you can't find the specifications by searching, you can call the company to find out more.

4
Research the prices of your used computer parts. Websites like TigerDirect.com and Newegg (listed in the Resources section) can help you price out your computer parts. A good rule of thumb is to sell your used computer parts at about 50 percent of their "new" value.

5
Sell your computer parts online. According to the RewardPrograms site, websites like eBay and TradeBin allow you to sell used computer parts for profit. Compare your used computer components with those already listed by other users. List your used computer gear.
