Having a Vicks Humidifier in your house can help clear congestion and relieve dryness in the lungs, making it easier to breathe. They are perfect for environments that lack humidity because they add moisture to the air when it’s dry in the winter. Vicks Cool Mist Humidifiers are very easy for anyone to set up and use.

Place the humidifier on a flat surface, far away from any walls or furniture. Place the cord of the humidifier in a place where it won’t be stepped on or tripped over.

Making sure the Vicks Humidifier is unplugged, remove the water tank from the humidifier base.

Open the cap of the water tank by turning it counterclockwise. Fill the water tank with clean, lukewarm tap water and replace the cap. Avoid using hot water. Make sure to twist the cap tightly to prevent any leaks.

Place the water tank on the base and dry your hands thoroughly with a towel.

Ensure that the power switch is in the "Off" position. Plug the cool mist humidifier into the wall outlet.

Turn the switch to the desired humidity setting. To increase the humidity level, turn the knob clockwise. A green light indicates that the humidifier is working.

Use the humidifier in any room that is in need of moisture. The humidifier is especially useful in areas that have dry climates.

Clean the humidifier each week by wiping the parts with warm water and white vinegar. Make sure to unplug the Vicks Humidifier before cleaning.

Tip

When the right level of humidity is reached, the Vicks Humidifier will automatically shut off and a light will illuminate. If the humidity level drops below that level, the machine will turn itself on until the desired level of humidity is obtained.

Warning

Avoid using an extension cord. Doing so could result in an electrical shock. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for maintenance and cleaning. Unplug the cool mist humidifier when it's not being used. Do not fill the humidifier tank with anything besides water.
