How to Install Bluetooth on a Toshiba Laptop

Install a Bluetooth dongle on a Toshiba laptop.

Toshiba is an electronics company that manufactures various products, ranging from televisions to computers. Some of the older Toshiba laptop models don't have built-in Bluetooth technology. To use Bluetooth on a model like this, you need to purchase a USB Bluetooth dongle and install it on your laptop. Installation and use of these devices is simple.

Instructions

1. Switch on the laptop, and remove the protective cap from the Bluetooth dongle.

2. Plug the Bluetooth dongle into a free USB port on the laptop.

3. Wait for the laptop to load the necessary drivers. When this process is done, a notification will appear above the system tray (bottom right corner).

4. Right-click on the Bluetooth sign in the system tray to use the dongle. "Send a File" allows you to search for other Bluetooth devices and transfer files to them. "Receive a File" makes the laptop visible to other Bluetooth devices. In the "Options" menu, you can change the Bluetooth name, pair the laptop with other devices and manage various settings.
