How to Recover the Phone Activation Code for Microsoft Office 2007

You must enter an activation code to run Microsoft programs.

Microsoft Products require you to enter a product key, also known as an activation code, to activate the programs on your computer. The product key is found on the package that comes with the CD-Roms and must be entered every time the program is installed on a new computer. If you have lost the package, you can obtain the key online or via telephone. To get the telephone number for your area, you must go to the Product Activation Wizard located within the software and complete a few tasks.

Instructions

1. Install Microsoft Office 2007. In order to obtain the phone number to call for your activation code, you must go through a particular menu within Microsoft Office Suite. If you did not already install Office on your computer, do so by inserting the CD-Rom into your machine and following the on-screen instructions.

2. Restart your computer. Once your computer has restarted, click "Start" and select "All Programs" from the menu. Choose "Microsoft Office" and click on any Office program from the list. Once the selected program starts, click on the "Office" button (located on the upper left corner, made up of four little squares). In the new menu, click on "Options" (If you are in Excel, this will be called "Excel Options") and select "Resources" Find the line titled "Activate Microsoft Office" and click on "Activate".

3. Start the online activation process. Even if you wish to activate the program via telephone, you will first be taken to the online activation center. When prompted for the activation code, click "OK" without entering a code. This will result in the failure of online activation and you will see an option titled "Activate by Telephone". Select this option. Now select your country and region from the list to obtain the phone number.

4. Call the activation number displayed on your screen. Your computer screen will also display an activation code that you must enter into the phone system, so do not turn off your computer. If you cannot complete the activation through the automated system, you can speak to a live representative. Have the purchase documents of your software if possible and be prepared to provide information found on the stickers on your hardware as well.
