Allow database attachments in Outlook 2007.

Microsoft Database (MDB) files are files typically associated with Microsoft Access. When you need to send or receive an MDB file through Outlook 2007, you need to probably change a setting within the back-end infrastructure of the application. The process takes about five minutes and is fairly simple to complete.

Instructions

    • 1

      Shut down your Outlook 2007.

    • 2

Press your "Windows" key and your "R" key on your keyboard at the same time. Type "regedit" (without the quotes) in the field that appears and hit the "Enter" key on your keyboard.

    • 3

Use the folders in the left column and navigate to "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Outlook\Security."

    • 4

Click "Edit" in the main menu bar. Scroll down and click "New." Choose "String Value."

    • 5

Type "Level1Remove" (without the quotes) for the value and then press the "Enter" key on your keyboard.

    • 6

Right-click on the new string value you created. Scroll down and click "Modify."

    • 7

Type ".mdb" in the data field. Click the "OK" button and close the registry. Restart your system.
