Remove the shower curtain from the hooks. Leave the hanging hooks in place on the hanging rod to keep from misplacing them while you clean the curtain.

Choose a patio, sidewalk, or driveway for a cleaning surface to set the shower curtain on. Sweep and hose down the area before you set the shower curtain on the ground to keep from adding dirt to the curtain when you are cleaning it.

Spread the shower curtain open on the ground with no folds or overlapping in the vinyl. Wet it completely with the hose.

Put on the rubber work gloves. Make a mixture of water and bleach in the bucket. Use one cup of bleach per four cups of water (one quart). Mix a smaller amount to begin with. You can always make more of the mixture if you need it.

Pour the mixture on the stained areas of the shower curtain first. Scrub it with the hand scrub brush, working the worst areas off first. Then scrub the rest of the curtain. Rinse the vinyl shower curtain thoroughly with the hose. Repeat the process on the other side of the curtain if it needs it. Let it air dry.

Tips & Warnings
Wear old clothes when cleaning the shower curtain in case of bleach splashing that will discolor your clothes. Be careful with the bleach and water around plants and grassy areas so you do not burn the vegetation.
