How to Create a Photo DVD With Nero

Put your favorite photos in a DVD slide show.

Creating a photo DVD in Nero is a good way to add a little life to any photo collections that you want to show off to family and friends. This will allow you to insert your DVD into any DVD player, open up your photo collection on any computer or DVD player, and scroll through the photos so that a large group can enjoy the photos at the same time, instead of having to pass a photo album to each individual person.

Instructions

1. Open "Nero StartSmart."

2. Scroll through the options across the upper-right section of your Nero home screen until you find "Photo and Video."

3. Move the mouse down to the options and select "Make Photo Slide Show (DVD)."

4. Locate the dialogue box in the upper-right corner of the screen. This box will have two tabs. The tab on the left is used to select images and the tab on the right is used to select image transitions. Make sure the tab on the left is clicked.

5. Locate the pictures you want to put on the DVD. If the pictures do not appear in the dialogue box on the right side of the screen, click the "Browse" button in the lower-left corner.

6. Navigate to the folder that contains the pictures you want to add to your photo DVD. Hold down the "Ctrl" button and left click on any pictures you want to add. When you have highlighted all of the pictures you want to add, click "Open." The pictures will be added to your dialogue box to choose from in Nero.

7. Highlight the pictures in the dialogue box and click the "Add" button on the lower-right side to add them to your DVD slide show. Your pictures will be placed into the preview picture boxes that look like a film strip in the middle of your screen. The larger boxes are for pictures, the smaller boxes in between the pictures are for transitions.

8. Click the tab in the upper-right corner of the dialogue box in the upper-right side of your screen.

9. Click the drop-down menu at the top of the dialogue box to select the type of transition you would like to use between your pictures. You can insert any type of transition into any transition box.

10. Locate a transition you want to use. Left-click on that transition and drag it above the transition box before the picture you would like the transition to be applied to. Release the left-mouse button. Continue applying any transitions you want before pictures. If you don't want transitions, don't apply any.

11. Click "Next" and then click "Next" again.

12. Assign a name to your DVD by clicking "Volume Name" in the "Set the parameters for burning" dialogue box in the upper-right corner. Enter a name and press "Next."

13. Click "Burn" in the lower-right corner to burn your photo DVD.
