How Do I Use Crystal Tone Bowls?
Crystal tone bowls or crystal singing bowls are used as meditation tools and aids in holistic healing. The vibratory tone is believed to be on the same wave length that your brain produces when it is in a calm, relaxed state. Learning to use a crystal singing bowl can be anything but relaxing, but with time and patience, you can master the technique of crystal tone bowls.

Set the bowl on a flat surface, preferably something rigid such as a table or the floor.

Strike the bowl softly with the wand to produce a ringing sound. Most wands have a suede-covered end that is intended for soft contact with the crystal tone bowl.

While the bowl is ringing from the initial strike, touch the lip of the bowl with the wand so that the wand is in contact with only the very top of the crystal singing bowl.

Follow the noise around the lip of the bowl with your wand, applying slight pressure as you trace around the edge of the bowl.

Continue this circular motion until the bowl begins to "sing." The repeating circular motion of the wand will cause the bowl to vibrate with increasing intensity. This takes practice; each user has a slightly different technique when using crystal tone bowls. Try different angles of contact with the wand until you master it.
