How Do I Freeze Milk-Based Rice Pudding?
Rice pudding is a combination of rice and milk or water. Other ingredients are also added, such as nuts, fruits and spices, according to your recipe. Usually, rice pudding is made in large batches, and you can prevent extra pudding from going to waste by freezing it, which will extend its shelf life. Cool the rice pudding thoroughly before putting it in the freezer. This will prevent freezer burn from occurring.

Pour the rice pudding into freezer containers. Leave some space at the top of the containers because the milk in the rice pudding will expand when it freezes. It is best to put the rice pudding into single-serving sizes so that it can be easily consumed in an individual serving.
You can make rice pudding pops by scooping the rice pudding into ice pop molds. Place popsicle sticks in the molds after the pudding has been in the freezer approximately 1 hour. Alternatively, you can pour the rice pudding into ice cube trays.

Label the containers with the date, and place them in the freezer. Make sure the surface of the freezer shelf is level.

Check the date on the containers periodically to make sure the pudding is consumed within 1 month. According to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, you should use frozen milk within 1 month. Therefore, to be on the safe side, you should consume your frozen milk-based rice pudding within 1 month.
