For example, making a call to a Russian mobile phone from the United States is a simple process that you only need your own phone and a phone card to accomplish. Instructions

1. Purchase an international phone card. These will dramatically reduce the price of long distance phone calls; however, you will only be able to make a phone call for as long as the card is for. Dial the number on the phone card, and, when prompted, enter the PIN on the card.

2. Dial "011-7" to make a phone call to Russia. This is Russia's country code, and all calls must be routed through it.

3. Dial the mobile number you wish to call. The number will be just like an American number, with a three-digit area code followed by a seven-digit phone number. You will be connected to the mobile number you are trying to reach.
