Instructions

    • 1

Plug your flat iron into the wall, and adjust the heat settings. Paul Brown flat irons can go up to 410 degrees. Use higher heat settings for course, thick hair.

    • 2

Make a horizontal part in the back of your head, just below your ears. Pull the top portion of hair up on top of your head, and secure with a hair clip.

    • 3

Separate one small section of hair, typically 1 inch wide, from the bottom portion of hair.

    • 4

Hold the flat iron onto the hair just above the scalp. Do not touch your scalp with the flat iron, because it can burn your skin.

    • 5

Pull the flat iron down the length of your hair while turning the flat iron under. For more spiral curls, wrap the hair around the flat iron as you gently pull down your hair.

    • 6

Release the flat iron from the bottom of your hair. Repeat Steps 3 through 5 with the remaining unclipped hair.

    • 7

Take the hair clip out of your hair. Make another horizontal part in your hair above your ears. Repeat Steps 3 through 5 with the new section of hair. When you're finished, remove the hair clip from your hair and, again, repeat Steps 3 through 5 with the last section of hair.

Spray your hair lightly with hair spray to keep your curls all day.
