It's a fairly simple process-you should be on the Internet wirelessly in under twenty minutes.

      Turn off your computer and unplug your cable modem's power supply.

      Unplug the Ethernet cable from your computer that connects it to your cable modem.

      Plug the Ethernet cable you disconnected from your computer into the Ethernet port on your wireless router labeled "WAN," "WLAN" or "Internet." The exact label varies by modem and manufacturer, but there should only be one of these on your router.

      Plug the cable modem and wireless router's power supplies in and wait two minutes.

      Turn on your computer and log into your user account.

      Click the network icon in the bottom right hand corner of the screen.

      Click on your wireless network in the list and click the "Connect" button. Enter the password if asked. If you haven't set up your wireless router before, consult the owner's manual that came with it for the name and password of its default network.
