The HP 94 is a black ink cartridge for inkjet printers.

The HP 94 cartridge is a small black ink cartridge for HP inkjet printers. Manufactured by Hewlett-Packard, it usually lasts four to six months with average printer use. If it stops working after only a month or two, and there's still ink inside, it may have dried or clogged ink. Cleaning the cartridge will help release the ink flow and help you get all the ink out of the cartridge.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove the cartridge from the printer. Open the printer lid and grip the cartridge front and back, then pull straight up. Set the cartridge on a paper towel to avoid soiling anything.

    • 2

Dampen the cloth with isopropyl alcohol (works better than plain rubbing alcohol) and wipe the bottom of the cartridge gently. Do not push anything or rub hard as you may damage the sensor chip.

    • 3

Dip the cotton swab in isopropyl alcohol and gently clean the inside edge of the ink dispenser hole. Use another damp cotton swab to clean the ink slot in the printer itself.

    • 4

Let everything dry out before returning the cartridge to the printer and printing a test page.

    • 5

Call HP customer service or the store where you bought the ink if the above steps don't get the cartridge working again. It may be a defective product that deserves a refund or replacement.
