How to Check Your Airtel Internet Speed

Airtel (Bharti Airtel Limited) is a telecom service provider operating in 18 countries across Asia as well as Africa. The company provides a number of services, including Internet. If you’ve signed up for an Internet plan with Airtel and you’re not sure whether you’re getting the optimum download and upload speed, there are ways to check this out.

Instructions

    • 1

Contact Airtel (see Resources) and inquire about your current Internet connection package. You will most likely be required to disclose your account number (Airtel username that you use for connecting to the Internet). The company representative will let you know which package you’re currently on. Note down the download and upload speed you’re told.

    • 2

Visit the Airtel Speed Check site (see Resources) to check your download and upload speed. This is a free facility offered by Airtel to test Internet speed. Select your state and city from the drop-down list. On the next page, click the button that says “Click to Start Test.” The website will then run a test and tell you your Internet connection’s download and upload speed in megabits per second (Mbps).

    • 3

Double-check the download and upload speed on a third-party website (see Resources). These websites work just like Airtel’s Internet speed checker. When you go to the website, click “Test” and you will see the download and upload speed of your computer.

Tips & Warnings

  • While checking Internet speed on a website, make sure you’re not downloading or uploading anything. You should temporarily pause browsing as well.
