How to Convert DVD to MOV in OS X

DVD movies consist of three main file components stored in a DVD's "Audio TS" and "Video TS" folders. Converting a DVD's contents to QuickTime MOV files requires a DVD ripper program that will read and extract its "Video TS" folder's VOB files. Among many options include programs like Wondershare DVD Ripper, iMedia Converter for Mac, and MPEG Streamclip--all three have specific QuickTime MOV output presets so you can easily export your video in just a few clicks. Allow up to several hours for these conversions to complete, as QuickTime MOVs are large files.
