How to Burn Videos & Slideshows With Nero
DVD discs contain more than 4 GB of space to store data, video, audio and photos. When burning a photo slideshow to DVD, you may leave a large portion of the disc unused. Instead of wasting the space, you can use Nero software to burn a photo slideshow and videos on a single DVD.
Instructions

1
Load the Nero Vision application and start a new project. Choose "Create Your Own DVD-Video" from the project list.
-
2
Click on the "Create New Slideshow" link on the right side of the Nero Vision screen. A simple video editor will load with a preview monitor in the top-left corner, a slideshow timeline on the bottom and the file explorer in the upper right corner.
-
-
3
Click on the small folder icon to import your photos. Select your photos and press "OK" to load them into the project. The software will analyze the photos and load them with a small thumbnail in the file explorer.
-
4
Drag and drop pictures from the explorer into the Timeline window. By default, the pictures will display for five seconds in the finished slideshow, but you can change that timing with the small counter underneath the preview window. Click on the arrows to adjust the time.
-
5
Click the "Transitions" tab to load different types of transitions. Drag and drop a transition between two pictures to add it to the project. Press the "Play" button on the preview monitor to see what the transition looks like. Transitions are categorized in different sections like "3D," "Wipes" and "Fades."
-
6
Use the "Import" icon to add audio files to your project. Click and drag the music file down to the Timeline window to automatically add it to your slideshow.
-
7
Finalize your slideshow by clicking the "Next" icon in the bottom right corner of the screen. The slideshow will be automatically added to the project.
-
8
Click on the "Import Video" icon to add extra videos to the DVD. Use the meter on the bottom of the screen as a guide to see how many movies you can add to the project. If any part of the bar is red then there is too much data for the disc.
-
9
Add a custom menu to the DVD by clicking the "Next" icon. Double-click in the preview menu to change the titles of the slideshows and videos. Click on the "Folder" link to import a custom background graphic for the project or scroll through the list of pre-made backgrounds.
-
10
Insert a blank DVD into your computer and click the "Next" icon to see a preview of the DVD disc. Click the "Next" icon again, then click the "Burn" icon to finalize the DVD settings and burn your project.
-
11
Take the DVD out when burning has completed and test it in a DVD player to make sure the slideshows and videos play correctly.
