How to Burn a DVD With Protection
With the wide availability of recordable DVD-R discs and computers equipped with DVD burning drives, it is easy to record your favorite videos onto a DVD. Without properly finalizing the DVD, however, you leave the disc unprotected. A burned DVD that has not been closed can be erased or recorded over. Protect your DVD and avoid losing your videos.
Instructions

-
1
Insert a blank DVD-R into the computer's DVD burner.
-
2
Select "Open a Writable DVD Folder" when prompted, then click "OK."
-
-
3
Find the folder containing the files that you plan to burn to the DVD and open it. If the files are saved in multiple locations, open those folders as well.
-
4
Drag and drop the files from their saved folders into the writable folder you created in Step 2. Your computer will immediately transfer a copy from the saved location into this folder.
-
5
Look to the left side menu of the open DVD folder and select "Write These Files To DVD." Your computer will open a DVD burning wizard. Name the disc and follow any on-screen prompts. You must click the "Close Disc" option at the end of the wizard in order to protect the disc.
-
6
Click the "Finish" button at the end of the wizard to compete the burning process.
