How do I Donate a Boat in Massachusetts?
Perhaps you've found yourself with an unwanted boat, are ready to replace the one you own, or simply have a neglected boat that's taking up too much space. No matter your reason for wanting it gone, there are plenty of options to consider when it comes to getting rid of your boat. A common choice is to donate it to charity. The charity then sells your boat or, for boats that are nonfunctioning, sells the parts. And in many cases, the recipient picks up your boat free of charge.

1
Select a Massachusetts-based organization to which you feel comfortable donating. One common option is Action Donation Services, a charitable organization that donates proceeds to the state's abused, sick and homeless people. A second option is Boats With Causes, a charitable network that gives 100 percent of your donation's proceeds to communities that need financial assistance.

Fill out the online form whatever charitable organization you choose. You can also call its toll-free number. Make sure you have your contact information as well as the boat information (include registration, location and make/model).

Select the free section when placing an ad on Craigslist. All items listed on Freecycle are automatically free to others.
-
6
Include a picture with your ad, as well as any other pertinent boat information.
-
7
Include your e-mail address and/or phone number to expedite the donation process. People should begin contacting you within 24 hours of your ad placement.
