1. Open the Start menu and select "All Programs." Double-click to open the Accessories folder and click "Run."

2. Type "msconfig" and click "OK" to access the System Configuration menu.

3. Choose the "Selective startup" option under the General tab, enabling the ability to choose which programs run upon startup.

4. Go to the Startup tab and clear the box next to Internet Explorer.

5. Click "Apply" and "OK" to close System Configuration window.

6. Close any open programs and restart the computer to implement the revised settings.
