How to Use Sandisk Cruzer 8 USB 2.0 Flash Drive

SanDisk manufactures many different models of flash drive including the Cruzer, which comes in an eight-gigabyte model. The flash drive can be used on most computer systems to store all types of files including images, video, documents, audio and even program files. To connect the flash drive, the computer must contain a USB 2.0 port. There is no additional software required to start utilizing the flash drive on your computer.

      Insert the USB connection on the SanDisk Cruzer 8 flash drive into the computer's USB port.

      Select the "Open folder to view files" option in the AutoPlay window. If AutoPlay doesn't detect the flash drive, click on the "Start" button and select "My Computer." Double-click on the drive letter that represents the flash drive. (Typically, the drive letter is between "F" and "Z.")

      Locate the file that you want to add to the flash drive and right-click on that file. Select "Copy."

      Right-click in an empty spot in the flash drive folder and select "Paste."

Tips & Warnings

  • You can delete files by right-clicking on a file in the flash drive folder and selecting "Delete" from the drop-down menu. You can copy files back to a computer by selecting "Copy" from the drop-down menu, or use the mouse to drag the file from the drive folder and drop it onto a folder on the computer.
